Meta Magic

Our lives today revolve around technologies that utilize material properties; attributes of materials which were once unheard of. But we take these for granted and don’t notice exactly how whacky things can get under the hood. At Meta Magic you get to see how wonderful even the simplest process can be if you know where to look for it. At this open exhibition, we show you breathtaking demonstrations that promise to keep your curiosity piqued. At Meta Magic we plan to demonstrate a set of experiments which will be like a magic show for these kids.

Engineering Workshop: (40 kids)

Engineering workshop is organised as a part of Make A Difference (MAD) summer camp. It is to give an idea of what engineering is to these kids and to motivate them to pursue it as a future career. The events decided are 
  • Explaining IC engines with model.
  • An R/C car to demonstrate them about a working car.
  • To build a miniature emergency lamp and fan that runs on battery
The above 2 events is a part of community outreach programme where we are supporting the Make A Difference(MAD)'s Summer Camp to be held for their students.

Lions Club Dance

Students of Lions Club School for Special Children are performing the first dance of Dance events. Lions Club School in Surathkal is a school for mentally challenged people who are trained and developed to live with the society. The students of this school have won various sports and cultural competitions.

Big brother

Be the Big Brother or Sister to a MAD kid, and spend an inci evening with the kid. Take the kid through the events of the day, encouraging the child to question, enquire and learn more about the world. An evening out with an elder sibling will do a world of good for the kid, boosting his or her confidence tremendously. In the process, you get to view inci through a child’s perspective. Gift the kid with your companionship and you will take back an experience that will stay with you forever. The kids come at around 2pm and will be there till 8pm on 3rd of MArch. Hence we combine all the activities happening for them with big brother. 

Treasure Hunt

What is more fun than a treasure hunt? A treasure hunt with a group of kids! This inci, we provide you with the perfect treasure hunt to enjoy with kids. Help a team of 4 kids from MAD solve simple clues to various places around campus. The kids get to know the campus better and hopefully you, the kids! We promise you and the kids a 'fun'tastic experience. Let the Joy Hunt begin!

Splash T-Shirt

At inci, watch the kids from MAD go on a riot of colour, as they dip their hands into paint and splash them on to tee shirts as a display of their artistic prowess. The splashed tees will be on show for some time before the kids get to take their own customised tee!

Flying Lantern

We show our commitment to the MAD cause, this inci by letting the kids release flying lanterns. The flying lantern symbolises the hope, joy and the spirit of a better world for the kids. At the End of the World Party, witness the Beginning of the New.

Various initiatives are supported by providing them space to interact with the crowd and spread awareness about their activities. The Initiatives are

  • Teach For India.
  • PeTA INDIA etc

Start Gazing

An awe-inspiring canopy of stars is just what a kid wants at night, to look at. This inci, we give the kids an opportunity to view the spectacle through our telescopes, bringing them closer to their dreams. What better way to teach the kids to aim for the stars!

PLANT A BIRTHDAY TREE INITIATIVE

It is an initiative to spread awareness about environment protection by planting trees. They are a group of young environment enthusiasts from NITK who want to spread awareness about environment by urging people to plant trees on their birthdays. It doesn't stop at that. They provide all the information that is required to help you take care of the tree and see it grow fully. It works in simple 3 step procedure.
  • Select your Birthday tree from their website www.birthdaytree.in
  • Identify a location to plant the tree. It could be your own backyard, or your school compound or your society garden.
  • Plant the tree and take its care until it has fully grown.
They want to reach out to all the young students and professionals and give them an easy way to plant trees. Our aim is to involve the young blood in environmental protection. They give information to people all over India.
They have their initiative to be launched on 4th of March with a tree plantation.
